Renovation and expansion of a severely damaged, unique old apartment in Berlin-Mitte into a high-quality, two-story penthouse apartment with a roof garden.
Following a fire, the new owner took over the property in a significantly impaired condition. Around half of the apartment was destroyed and required complete renovation. All building services were renewed and supplemented with a modern smart home system.
Special emphasis was placed on sophisticated lighting design with diverse, finely tuned lighting scenarios that meet both functional and atmospheric requirements.
The project placed high demands on planning and construction management: it involved an old building within an existing homeowners' association, whose daily routine had to be disrupted as little as possible during the construction phase. The inner-city location in Berlin-Mitte presented additional logistical challenges.
After taking over the project, the planning was restructured, technical interfaces clarified, and construction work consistently coordinated. Despite complex conditions and unforeseen technical incidents, the project was successfully completed.
The result is a clearly designed apartment built to the highest standards, featuring modern technology, precise workmanship, and contemporary architectural design.
