Renovation of an old commercial unit into a new language school in the center of Munich

This property is located directly in the pedestrian zone at Marienplatz—right in the heart of Munich. Organizing the construction site was correspondingly complex, as it was even necessary to close off public spaces at times.

In addition, the renovation had to take place immediately after the previous tenant moved out—the time frame until the new language school moved in was extremely tight—the window of opportunity was extremely narrow. For the contractors as well as for us as planners, this meant working nights and weekends.

We worked here with a Design-Studio aus London together, which took particular care to ensure that the Corporate Identity of this globally active language institute group. The collaboration was exciting and inspiring: together, we developed a new design style that combines the signatures of both offices.

The result is impressive. We are proud of this project, which speaks a fresh, youthful design language – and we thoroughly enjoyed working for a young target group to design.
