Renovation of a restaurant

What was supposed to be a simple “sprucing up” of a restaurant turned into a complete renovation. The particular challenge in this project was to comply with fire safety regulations, as the restaurant is located in an apartment building. Developing the concept together with the client was a real pleasure, as he contributed his own creative and concrete ideas.
It was a very enjoyable process of discovery, combining the old with the new.The old wooden beam ceiling was exposed, as were the old masonry walls, which subsequently became the central design element of the restaurant. We had to think carefully about how to conceal the extensive technology and large ventilation system in the kitchen while still providing sufficient space, because this is an open-plan kitchen. show kitchen,separated only by a glass wall, is in the planning stages. Guests should be able to see what is happening in the kitchen. As a special highlight, we designed an elaborate Mosaic wall cladding. Catellani & Smith lighting fixtures The lighting concept, which, like sculptures, conjures up a very special atmosphere in the steak bar, was the aim was to give this bar a cozy atmosphere that promotes conviviality accompanied by a certain elegance.
From This property was particularly interesting because it is located directly on the Aurach River and has a lot of hydropower permeated. In addition, the house had other energetic burdens caused by its historical use, which we harmonized.
Overall, the result is a place that radiates warmth, conviviality, and hospitality.
