Complete renovation of a villa

_________________________________________

Year of construction: 1960s

Planning and construction: 2014-2016

A beautiful project in Nuremberg-Fischbach that impressively demonstrates what can be achieved with an old house from the 1960s. The exterior cubature was retained, but much of the interior was redesigned, planned, and implemented.

Major structural alterations made it possible to enlarge and combine rooms. The aim was to create an open loft character with generous sightlines to connect the different levels and functions. The only structural constant remained the heart of the house: the staircase connecting the basement, ground floor, and attic. Otherwise, the entire building was extensively renovated: new roof structure with insulation, exterior insulation, new windows, floors, walls, and ceilings completely redone. The technical equipment is of the highest standard – with maximum lighting and smart home technology, entirely in line with the tech-savvy builder's wishes.

The floor plan leaves nothing to be desired: four fireplaces, a spacious senior suite with wellness area and two separate dressing rooms—one for him and one for her—two children's rooms with their own bathrooms, an open-plan living and dining area, a spacious entrance area with separate cloakroom, and a sauna and wellness area with adjoining lounge—perfect for relaxing or celebrating.

It was a very wonderful trip together, which from trust, closeness and a deep desire to create something truly personal. It is always moving to see how dreams become rooms, how wishes take shape, and how an old house is transformed into a new home—for an entire family, including their lively Rhodesian Ridgeback dog.
